I have been following this from it first announcement months ago and it looks very promising. I can't wait to see the cards and download the rules. Its being released at GenCon so not long to wait!
"Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce the upcoming release of Android: Netrunner! Originally designed by Richard Garfield and released in 1996, Netrunner was widely hailed as one of the greatest customizable card games of its era. Now, with Android: Netrunner, players can look forward to revisiting the game’s exciting play… or experiencing it for the first time." see the FF site
I got my new Hord models for my Brood master and Beast master. Maelstrom made a mix up and I actually got both starters even though I only order the Brood master. Once again very nice models from Taban. I didn't order any bases so I need to place an order for some bases asap.
The hord have some interesting rules and here is the card for the Brood master (cards can be download from Tabans web site). The masters Frenzy tokens can be used by allied fighters within 20cm to power special abilities. Then the Frenzy token can power a 1AP, + 1CBT or even +1SPD.
I had a 4 player game on Wednesday night and it was a blast. Lots of interaction and movement. I am looking forward to playing again soon.
Victory was to House Lannister of course !
Only had one game but this is a keeper. Very elegant rules and production is of course excellent ( I dont think I have a bad FF game). Allow plenty of time for your first game to sort rules. We made a few mistakes such as using raid commands to remove all orders, allowing siege engines to retreat, retreating into an area with a power counter and not explaining how ships worked to transport troops.
I had a 2 player game of Fantasy Flights board game "Android" today. It was my first game and took about 3 hrs with lots of rule learning. It was a great game and it does work as a 2 player game. The fluff is great and the multiple ways to get victory make this a very a great game.
The end game was exciting as we tried to make sure our hunches were accurate. Solving the conspiracies and plots were important in our game today.
Overall: Great fun, Top notch components and can't wait to have another game soon.
I also have ordered the new game "Infiltration" which is set in the Android universe and I can't wait to give a run. Something else to watch for is the "NetRunner" LCG being publish August 2012. From FF " Android: Netrunneris a two-player Living Card Game™ set in a dystopian, cyberpunk future where monolithic megacorps own and control the vast majority of human interests. While corporation players try to score points by advancing their agendas, they have to guard their intellectual properties from the elite and subversive hackers known as net runners"
