Dystopian Wars - Southcon 2012

I was at the Southcon today, the Annual OMTS convention. I entered the DW tournament and had a bye and played 2 games. Game one was vs the Prussians and Game two vs the French.

DW - Southcon fleet

Here is the start of my SouthCon 2012 fleet. I need to get a few games in to test stuff but I like the feel of the 750 point list.

The Ruler BS, Eagle flyer and the gun ships all have internal guardian generators and the Ruler will most likely have a shield generator as well.

DW - old stat cards

I had a game of DW and we used markers to indicate a model had been activated. (Idea thanks to Dave)

Here are some old stat cards cut up and stuck onto 30mm wooden tokens. Easy to see and pick up with a nice colorful gloss finish . Will make unit tracking faster I think. Plus a good use for the old stat cards that are out of date.

DW - fleet additions

Here are some of my new DW models based coated and washed. Still need to add some flags etc. Very nice models as always from Spartan and are very easy to paint.

Next project for DW is to make a realistic table either by painting a cloth or painting the board it self. 

DW - Vanguard subs

I got a few new DW Vanguard subs. You get a submerged model as well as a normal model. All in resin and a breeze to paint. Very cool.

I also got some other 'bits and pieces' directly from Spartan , but have not painted these yet. As you can see I am having another look at DW (only naval and air) and trying to get a few games in before Southcon 2012.  Means my ISC painting project is put on hold for a bit but its not forgotten.

DW - Hawk Class Scout Rotor

I had 2 HCSR that I had not even taken out of the blister so I thought I had better get motivated. Here are my 4 HCSR's painted and ready for action. Nice looking models and 5 points cheaper with added ability of magnetic mines. Spartan have changed to balance up models point cost I think.

All I need to finish them are some decals. I think I have some I made lying around somewhere.
